A new dye for qPCR and HRM
BEBO is an asymmetric cyanine dye developed by TATAA together with Chalmers University of Technology for staining dsDNA. The dye shows a strong fluorescence increase when bound to dsDNA and has similar excitation and detection wavelengths as SYBR and FAM. Experiments show that BEBO does not induce as much primerdimer formation as SYBR. The BEBO dye has also been show to work excellent in HRM applications and can distinguish single basepair differences in PCR products. The BEBO-family of dyes is patent pending.
